Trams The hottest ride is Las Vegas is not at the Stratosphere, it's located at the rear of some east side of the Strip's resorts. Las Vegas visitors are now able to ride from the MGM Grand all the way to the Sahara Hotel. Stops along the way include the Paris/Bally's, Flamingo, Harrah's / Imperial Palace, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton and finally the Sahara. Construction will begin shortly on the extension to Fremont Street with a connection to McCarran Airport expected in the next several years. Ticket prices have increased to $5.00 one-way for 2006. For further details check out Las Vegas Monorail.

Buses: The Citizens Area Transit (CAT) provides bus service on the Strip (Route 301) as far south as Vacation Village. The buses leave every 7.5 minutes for Fremont Street. The fare is $2.00 each way for adults, Children and Seniors pay $.60 each way. (Anytime from 6pm to midnight this could be a very crowded and long to trip back to your hotel, I would NOT advise using this during those times, Get a cab!).
Cabs: The initial fare is $3.20 (among the highest in the US) plus a mileage rate of $2.00 per mile. If you are stuck in traffic (less than 12 mph) or the driver must wait for you the charge is $22.00/hr. There is a five person limit per vehicle with NO additional charge per passenger. You should never need to call a cab, their are usually 10 waiting in front of all hotels. You can expect to pay $6 - $12 dollars for anywhere an the Strip and $14 - $19 Strip to Fremont Street. There is a $1.20 (per TRIP, not per person) surcharge when leaving McCarran Airport.

Approximate Fares: $11.20 for 4 mile trip, $12.40 for a 4 mile trip leaving McCarran Airport.

The cabs in Las Vegas are very clean (usually with leather interiors) and by law must be under 3 years old. The drivers are usually very friendly but generally hate anyone from California. As in most US cities, driving with a cabbie is a adventure, so hold on and don't forget to tip 20%, especially if you have friendly driver.

Limos:
Most limos in Las Vegas are not really limos, they are actually small buses. But they are VERY reasonably priced. Real limos are available and priced about $35 to $45 per hour with a one hour minimum. (This is cheap when you are trying to impress someone, they even meet you in the terminal with your name on a sign). The other limo (or buses) are dominated by Bell-Trans.
