Viva Vegas provides a guide to some very useful tourism and travel information about Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is located in the Mojave Desert, in Clark County, Nevada and as a result enjoys a lot of sunshine and warm weather all year round. The city is surrounded by mountains and just over 2,000 ft above sea level. It is about 270 miles from Los Angeles, or a few hours drive.

Las Vegas is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States with a population exceeding over half a million a people. The primary economy of Las Vegas is the tourism industry with gaming.

Las Vegas hotels are split into two main areas, The Strip and Downtown.The Strip is part of Las Vegas Boulevard and is about 4 miles long. This is where some of the world largest hotels, casinos and resorts are located. "The Strip" refers to all the hotels that are closely in the area, and not just located on Las Vegas Boulevard.
Downtown Las Vegas is centered around Fremont Street, which offers the Fremont Street Experience, which is a covered area connecting the localhotels and casinos to the street. The Fremont Experience offers great shows with the world's largest audio-video system, at the cost of $70 million.
